The lamp is not on or is too dim. If it is too dim, the scanner will continue to function, but image quality may be impaired.
* Is the lamp cover closed securely?
If so, the lamp should be replaced. See the user's guide for the correct part number.
If replacing your lamp does not correct the problem, contact your dealer or refer to your user's guide for Hewlett-Packard warranty and service information.
